Dee came from a very chaotic family life where her father was an alcoholic and her mother was co-dependent. She never felt she had enough support and always assumed responsibility for the family. Dee speaks of her isolation and how she spent spent her childhood in a closet in order to be "O.K.". Suffering from "boyfriend-itis", she was comĀpulsive and always had to have a boyfriend. She was first admitted to a treatment center for Anorexia at the age of 13. Through recovery she tells how her life has taken a turn for the better.
