The Twelve Steps of S.L.A.A. in Plain Language is a basic commentary on S.L.A.A.'s Twelve Steps. It is very short. Only two pages are devoted to each Step in an effort to keep things simple and readable. The entire document has been rated as comfortable for readers at the 6th and 7th grade level.
The Twelve Steps of S.L.A.A. in Plain Language was created to serve the members of S.L.A.A.

• Who do not have a college level vocabulary
• Who have a reading disability
• Who are new to S.L.A.A. and unfamiliar with the Steps and thus can benefit from a basic, easy to read orientation to the Steps
It is NOT presented as the one and only way of understanding, interpreting, or working the Steps. Rather, The Twelve Steps of S.L.A.A. in Plain Language gives newcomers a bird’s eye view of the Steps. It is a gentle starting point. A launching pad for working the Steps in depth with a sponsor.
